Chicago

Last weekend we went to visit family and friends in Chicago. We had a great time and got to see a lot of people we miss since we moved. The weekend started off with Uncle PJ and cousin Mav making pancakes, they were delicious.

We then headed to a kite flying festival at a nearby park, we purchased an Elmo kite and were ready to go. Mav, Steve, and Uncle PJ did a great job flying Elmo even though it was a really windy day.

We also went to one of my favorite spots in Chicago, the Lincoln Park Zoo. It was still pretty cold so lots of the animals were out and moving around and Steve got some great photo's.

Campbell took a liking to the Flamingo's of all animals, I think it was because they were so close to us and there were a ton of them. That's also where Uncle PJ got his souvenir ........... a little birdie dropped in on him if you know what I mean.

As you can see the two little Fire Chiefs had lots of fun playing together all weekend. Campbell also enjoyed story hour with Aunt Sarah.

We headed to a friends house on Sunday and got to meet Campbell's new best friend Freddy. He is a one year old Puggle who is just adorable. The two of them chased after each other, played tug-a-war, laughed, licked and had a blast. I have not seen her laugh so hard as when Freddy would run up to her and lick her face till she would fall over, she would get right back up and want more. Campbell could not get enough of Freddy and even tried to wake him up after he fell asleep from exhaustion. She fell asleep shortly after when she realized Freddy was done playing for the night and the adults were not nearly as much fun. While they were playing we got to catch up with my friends Susie and Kristen and enjoy a fabulous meal prepared by Naveen, Kristen's husband who also teaches cooking classes. We had a terrific time, thank you Naveen, Kristen and Freddy for your hospitality and all the licks.

We finished our trip off on Monday morning by meeting up with a friend of mine from college. Dana was kind enough to show Campbell the coach department at Macy's and teach her some shopping skills she will need when she gets older. Thanks Dana, do those shopping lessons come with a prepaid credit card?

It was so great to see everyone this weekend and to be in our old city Chicago! We miss you all and hope to see you again soon!

Go Green Go White

Go Green Go White

We had a great weekend to tell everyone about. We started off by going to our first MSU green and white game in East Lansing. They called for rain but it ended up being a beautiful day for football. We met our close friends there and enjoyed the day and the game with them. As you can see Daddy is very excited to have his little Spartan with him to check out the new team we get to watch this fall.

Campbell loves getting together with her friends and had a day full of fun. I credit these two little ladies for many of Campbell's firsts. They were over this winter and showed Campbell how to crawl....the next day she was crawling. They came over this spring and ran around and played with Campbell.....the next day she took her first steps. This weekend they showed her what the green and white game was all about and how to be a Spartan cheerleader (are the three of them adorable or what).

The great weather continued on Sunday, so we took Campbell on her first wagon trip. Grandpa got her a wagon for Christmas and we finally have nice weather where we can take it outside and go for a ride.

As you can see she had quite the following....I think she thought she was in a parade.

Let The Blogging Begin

I have been inspired by a few of my close friends to start our own blog. I love going out to their blogs to read what's new so I thought, why not do the same. I can't guarantee that I will update it every week but I will certainly try my best.

Our first blog will be about spring!!!!

We woke up, looked out the window, and saw the sun!

Spring has arrived and we took full advantage of it. We went to the park and had a blast. Campbell went for her first swing and slide adventure. We found out that she is a thrill seeker and will probably love roller coasters when she gets bigger. As you can see it was so much fun Grandpa even joined in. We all had our favorite ride and decided to be kids for the day.

(Didn't these slides used to be wider?)

We hope the weather was just as nice for everyone else and you all got to go outside and play in your pink convertible as well. We are looking forward to many exciting days exploring the outside after a very long winter inside.

Like I said I will do my best to make updates weekly so please check back to see what we have been up to. I will leave you with one last little video clip that we think is pretty great.
