Summer is Here!

Well summer has finally arrived and just in time for Memorial Day weekend. We enjoyed our long weekend with a trip to the park. We ran through the splash pad and got our first swim lesson from Auntie Ann. As you can see Campbell enjoyed running through the rainbow over and over and over again. She liked the pool by the end but was not a fan of getting splashed.

She was not as happy with the beach as she was with the pool. Once the shoes came off she could not get her feet in the air fast enough and could not figure out how to get them both off the sand at the same time.

We also took our first boat trip for the year. It was lots of fun but I think she will be like her Mommy and prefer to anchor and float instead of speed through the water. Finally someone on my side when it comes to how fast we go.

After a long day in the sun what better way to re energize then with a nice nap while being rocked to sleep by the waves. What a life!

I hope everyone had a wonderful weekend and got to enjoy some nice weather.

HAPPY 1st BIRTHDAY CAMPBELL

Today is Campbell's 1st Birthday! We can't believe that it has been a year already, it seems like just a few days ago she was this tiny little baby.

Now Campbell is one and we are having so much fun. She is walking everywhere and getting into everything she possibly can. She makes us smile and laugh everyday. With her high fives and love for dancing she is full of energy. We had grandpa and a few of her little friends over yesterday to help celebrate. She had a great time following the big kids around and playing.

We of course had cake for the first time but she really was not into it very much. She got a little dirty and had a few bites but really just wanted goldfish crackers and to play with everyone. I was kind of hoping for a frosting filled face, maybe next year. I'm sure after a few ice creams with Dad this summer she will get a taste for the good stuff.

We even had our own band going by the end of the party!

We want to thank everyone for all the wonderful presents and warm Birthday wishes. This has been a very special day and an incredible year!

Big "Boats"

I have a few different big boats to tell you about this week. The first was when we took Campbell to get her first new pair of shoes. Now that she is walking she needs some shoes to wear outside so that she does not stub her little toes, she has been wearing a lovely pair of tennis shoes our good friend Elisabeth let us borrow. Well those only lasted a few weeks unfortunately because Campbell's big "boats" grew quickly.

Those were a size 3 and we have recently learned she is now a size 4.5. This would explain the difficulty getting them on her lately. Here I thought she was curling her toes because she didn't want them on when in fact she was curly them to get them on. Sorry honey! Well as you can see she likes them a lot and I have to say they are SOOO much easier to get on her. She loves being outside and walking up and down the driveway in them.

The second big boat I am talking about is the big red boat we plan to spend our summer on. Campbell played inside big red with Grandpa as Steve polished her up in preparation for the big launch. We may not be the fastest boat out on the lake but we will sure be the shiniest. If this was any indication of how much Campbell will enjoy the boat this summer then we may have to pack her a sleeping bag because she is not getting off of it.

She loved playing inside of it and even got some driving tips from Grandpa.

I also celebrated another Birthday this weekend, they seem to be happening a lot faster the last few years. Steve even added an extra year on my card, apparently with our old age he has forgotten how old we both are. He was very happy when I gave him back a whole year. Thank you to everyone for their cards, calls, and warm wishes. A special thanks to my sister Ann for having us all over for dinner, it was delicious.
