Fishfly Season

Well it's that time of year again when the ground and light poles are covered in Fishflies. These tiny little bugs that fly, and only have a life span of about 24 hours, cover the roads and make them slippery and crunch when you step on them. We were at the boat this weekend and I shared my love of fishflies with Campbell. She was a little hesitant at first and then decided that they kind of look like butterflies. Here she is with her first Fishfly. Quick story, when my sister and I were little we would collect a bunch of fishflies and put on a fishfly circus for my parents. The nice thing was that there are so many of them around that when one would fall off the tight rope or accidentally get stepped on we would just go grab another to replace him. You have not lived till you've seen a fishfly roll on a croquet ball down the driveway. Yes it's amazing what kids will think of on a hot summer day.

Picnic Time

Summer's here let the picnicking begin. We had a great weekend picnicking with friends and family. Campbell loved having her buddies Sydney and Wiley to pal around the park with. We went swimming, to the beach, for a boat ride, to the playground, and of course stuffed our faces with lots of great food. Even though Campbell went in the pool and got a bath after playing at the beach I am still finding sand....where is she hiding it?

ABC's

Campbell loves to sing, her favorite is twinkle twinkle but lately she has started to sing her ABC's. Usually it's in the car or when we are going for a walk but this time she let me video tape her.

Summer Chores

Well it's summer time, time for sun, beach, swimming, picnics, and oh yes cutting the lawn. Well this year Daddy has some help. Campbell gets so excited when Steve cuts the lawn because she loves to join in.

She has also been helping me water and take care of all the flowers. Here she is with her favorite, bright pink peonies. She is such a great little helper in the garden, if we could only get her to be as helpful picking up the toys in her room?!
